Two Lanoka Harbor Men Arrested for Connection to Lacey Liquors Burglary

The Lacey Police Department charges two more Lacey men in Lacey Liquors Burglary

Two Lanoka Harbor men were arrested after the Lacey Police Department continued the investigation on the burglary at Lacey Liquors in Forked River.

Benjamin Hunt, 20, of Lanoka Harbor and Kyle Pianetti, 18, of Lanoka Harbor were allegedly connected to the burglary, police said.

The police found bottles of alcohol strewn in the parking lot of Lacey Liquors and one of the doors of the store shattered after responding to an alarm activation at 10:53 p.m. on April 4.

Five bottles of alcohol, each valued at $100, were stolen from the store. Three of the bottles were recovered in the parking lot.

After searching the surround area with the help of a K-9 team from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, they found additional bottles in the woods and developed a suspect.

The store sustained $900 in damage due to the forced entry.

Michael J. Cannito, 18, of Forked River was arrested on April 5 and charged with burglary, theft of movable property, criminal mischief and possession of alcohol in a public place. He was sent to jail with his bail set at $20,000, with no 10 percent option.

Hunt was charged with burglary and theft while Pianetti was charged with criminal mischief. Both were released on summons.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) also assisted the Lacey Township Police Department.
