Two Lacey Men Busted For Pot And Fireworks While Sitting In A Car

Two Lacey residents were arrested recently and charged with pot and fireworks possession while they were sitting in a car, police said.

On Tuesday, April 1, at 11:51 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey and Officer George Resetar were assigned to a directed drug enforcement detail when they observed two males sitting in a vehicle on Devon Street in Forked River with the engine running and all the vehicle’s lights off.

Upon making an inquiry, the officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 19-year-old Trevor Matthews of Lakeside Drive North in Forked River, and the passenger, 18-year-old Julius Sciamanna 4th of Devon Street in Forked River.

The suspects were found to be in possession of marijuana as well as assorted fireworks police said.

Both subjects were transported to Lacey Township police headquarters, where they were processed and released on summonses. Both suspects were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of fireworks.
