Two Forked River Men Arrested After Narcotic Investigation

David Smith, 34, was served several drug charges

Two Forked River men were arrested after police completed a narcotic investigation.

David Smith, 34, and Edward Mills, 39, were arrested on March 28 at Smith’s home after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police discovered a black powder handgun and a CO2 handgun during a search of the residence.

Smith was charged with possession of Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax; distribution of Alprazolan; two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon; certain person not to possess a weapon and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

Smith was sent to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.

Mills, who was visiting the residence, was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Ocean County Superior Court and sent to jail for $6,000 in back child support.
