If anybody saw Elizabeth's accident on Sept 3rd please call her family (732)-644-1098 God bless all and I agree driving on the parkway is getting scary..

my best thoughts and prayers for elizabeth and her family. i take the parkway a lot and the most dangerous thing is the tailgating. i,ve had cars an inch off my rear bumper at 55 and 65 mph. if i move to the middle or right lane someone just does it there too. how do people expect to stop if they are in a 3000 lb vehicle doing 70 or faster if they needed to. tailgaiting carries 5 points on your license the same as reckless driving yet i never see troopers or town cops ever enforce it.

You're right - if the state wants some extra money for the coffers just have the troopers pull over and ticket the drivers who tailgate and those who fail to use their directional signal. That pretty much covers the majority of drivers on the Parkway and the Turnpike.

The speed limit in that area of the parkway is 55. Explain again what they are doing wrong?

thats a lot of coffers. would pay for a lot of things needed in this state. ins companies would clean up too. "following too closely" is one of the items printed on any summons . there is no reason they shouldnt enforce it
