Toms River Man Facing Child Prostitution, Endangerment Charges

Ongoing investigation between state, county and local police

A 64-year-old Toms River man was arrested and charged in an alleged underage prostitution scheme, state police confirmed today.

Daniel Aversano was charged on Sept. 27 with two counts of engaging in prostitution with a minor and one count each of engaging in sexual conduct with a minor and endangering the welfare of a child, said Lt. Stephen Jones of the State Police.

State Police, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Toms River police aided in the investigation. Jones said Aversano was arrested Sept. 27 in Toms River and remanded to Ocean County Jail.

Jones said the victim is the same for each of the charges: a teenage boy who was 15 at the time of the incidents.

The lieutenant said the investigation is ongoing, and is related to charges filed earlier this year against three other men: Toms River resident Daniel Dinnebeil; Carlton Golden Jr. of Millstone, Monmouth County; and David Herzfeld, of Robbinsville.

“This dates back to February and earlier,” Jones said. “The victim is the same in the charges against them all, the incidents are related, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Dinnebeil, Herzfeld and Golden were each charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Jones said. Herzfeld faces an additional charge of engaging in prostitution with a minor.

Jones declined further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

That seems to be the opinion of most people, but they can't build enough prisons to house all of these pigs. The expense is too great. They can though, humanely, put them down. Seriously, where do these animals go when released? There is not a doctor on the planet that can convince most people that they can be rewired. Impossible! It's a good thought in theory but not realistic.

I agree Cindy, however even if they would be castrated, chemically or physically, they can still use foreign objects, as awful as that sounds. I think the only solution is to either lock them up for the rest of their lives or once they're released to civilly commit them as a danger to society.

Instead of wasting tax dollars & manpower on housing & caring for these perverts by jailing them, we ought to bring back public stoning & sell tickets to the events to raise money to help fight sexual child abuse. Let's put these monsters out on the field in Yankee Stadium and allow the sexually abused victims & their families to stone them to death! The same goes for that creep from Penn State too!

The convictions are in and none received jail time. Why? Because the victim and the suspect who killed himself initially raped, with the help of the suspect who committed suicide, one of the convicted. The victim also lied about his age and said, "I'm 18, you have nothing to worry about." The victim has no charges yet so many lives have been destroyed. The victim is a prostitute and will probably continue that once he turns 18. And don't tell me you can tell the difference in ages if you haven't seen the victim's pictures. He has wrinkles, bags under his eyes, and hairline that is further back than normal. I've researched this carefully as any form of injustice is evident. Furthermore, some people I know who knowingly had sex with minors over 13 (when they were in college), from all walks of life, who confided in me because of my sincerity for their wellness, have not been brought to justice. My point is, that because of the sensitive nature of the topic, this issue, and I believe even in studies, and it's prevalence have not been brought to light. Perhaps one of your family members has experimented and they are the ones who should be brought to justice.
