Entire plumbing, heating system stolen, police chief says

The owners of a home on Maui Drive got an unpleasant surprise when they went to check on their unoccupied Sandy-damaged home, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The owners called police at 5:30 p.m. on April 22, after it was discovered that many item were missing from the home in the Forked River section of the township, he said.

"The entire hot water baseboard copper piping system was removed from the home, along with plumbing pipes, fixtures and sinks," Paprota said. "Portions of the home's exterior gutters and leaders were also stolen."
