Police Blotter: Sheriff Arrests Forked River Man Who Failed to Appear in Court

Another arrested for failure to pay child support

 

A Forked River man was arrested by the county’s sheriff’s department on an Ocean County Superior Court warrant for failure to appear for a pre arraignment interview on original charges of eluding a police officer.

Daniel J Ferris, 51, of Enterprise Drive was from a Lacey patrolman on July 15, according to the indictment.

Ferris was held in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Also arrested by the sheriff’s department was John W. White, 52, of Whitcomb Road.

White was arrested for failure to pay child support in the amount of $949.02. He was processed, paid a reduced purge approved by the Ocean County Probation Department and was released.

Lt. Scott Tirella provided the following information:

Dec. 6
William Walker, 50, of Forked River was arrested following a single car accident at 12:07 a.m. for DWI.

Dec. 5
Police recovered a stolen vehicle at 12:41 a.m. in a wooded section off of Dover Road in Lacey Township. The vehicle was a 1997 Dodge Ram Pickup Truck stolen out of Toms River. The incident is still under investigation.

Dec. 4
At 11:26 p.m. a Fernwood Drive resident awoke to find someone in their vehicle, which was parked in the driveway. The suspect was a young male who fled the area before officers arrived. Loose change was stolen.

Dec. 3
A boat docked in Lacey Township was destroyed after it caught on fire. The 29-foot Aquasport boat was docked in the water off Kimberly Court. The Forked River Fire Company extinguished the blaze. The incident is still under investigation by the NJ State Police Marine Division and the Ocean County Fire Marshal.

Kevin Depino, 24, of Beachwood was arrested for shoplifting $34 worth of property from Walmart.

Dec. 1
Jason Santen, 32, of Bayville was arrested for shoplifting $30 worth of video game accessories from Walmart. He was processed and released.

Dec. 1
There was a burglary at a home on Trenton Avenue South. The front door was pried open during the afternoon and $9,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.

Dec. 1
There was a residential burglary on Laurel Boulevard between Nov. 18 and Dec. 1. Approximately $10,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.

Nov. 30
Lacey Township Police and State Parole arrested Marc Buchta, 42, of Forked River on three outstanding Lacey warrants totaling $2,508 and one outstanding Ocean County warrant for failure to pay child support. Buchta was lodged in Ocean County Jail.
