Lanoka Harbor Home Uninhabitable After Shed Fire Spreads

No injuries were reported but the residence is uninhabitable

A Lanoka Harbor home was left uninhabitable after a blaze spread from the shed, Lanoka Harbor Fire Department Chief Jack Amrozewicz said. No injuries were reported.

When the fire department arrived at 912 Seagull Drive at 5:15 p.m., a shed was overcome by fire with exposure to the house, Amrozewicz said.

“I walked around the house to size up the situation,” he said. By the time I got back to the front, the fire had spread onto the house.”

The fire company knocked down the blaze by 5:45 p.m. and remained on the scene to vent the house. They cleared the scene by 6:50 p.m.

Amrozewicz could not say whether the family was displaced.

The fire originated in the shed but the cause is still under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal.

The Forked River Fire Department assisted.

Bamber Lakes and Waretown fire companies covered the Forked River Fire Company while the Bayville Fire Company covered Lanoka Harbor.
