Resident Indicted in Reputed Baseball Bat Attack
Grand juries return indictments on drug, theft by deception charges
A Forked River man is jailed on assault charges after an alleged attack July 10 in the township.
An Ocean County grand jury last week indicted Thomas J. Concannon of Route 9 South on three criminal charges after police said he used a baseball bat against another resident.
Concannon was indicted on a third-degree aggravated assault charge after causing "significant bodily injury" to another Lacey resident, the indictment states. He also was charged with third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose for allegedly employing a baseball bat, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Concannon is lodged in Ocean County Jail on $50,000 bail, no 10 percent option. He cannot have any contact with his alleged victim as a condition of his bail.

A Holland Avenue woman was indicted last week after police said she tried to cash an altered check in February 2010.
Christina M. Hartman was charged with third-degree theft by deception for presenting an "altered check" to in the name of another woman, the indictment alleges.

A grand jury returned an indictment on drug charges last week against a Seabright Road woman.
Ashley R. Hemlock had cocaine in her possession when arrested in Lacey on Aug. 8, 2010, the indictment stated.
Hemlock was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute.
