Police: Woman Charged With DWI Claims She Wasn't Driving Car

Toms River Police arrested Pamela Casiero, 26, of Lanoka Harbor on a charge of driving while intoxicated after she stuck the rear of a vehicle on Route 37 and Douglas at midnight Sunday, Aug. 12.  

Casiero’s vehicle struck a Dodge that was in the middle lane just coming off the Tunney Bridge. According to witnesses Casiero was driving erratically prior to the crash and after the collision exited the driver’s side and sat in the passenger’s side and attempted to claim someone else was driving.

Besides driving while intoxicated she was charged with reckless driving, and following too close. Officer James Carey made the arrest.

Aug. 13
A resident of Briggs Avenue reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole three chargers for electronics valued at $130.

An officer reported to Riviera Drive in Forked River. Someone entered a home and stole $2,800 in property including a laptop, camera and silverware. There was no forced entry.

An Industrial Park business indicated that a fenced-in secured yard was broken into. Someone stole two air conditioning coils valued at $250 in scrap. 

Aug. 12
A Lake Barnegat Drive resident reported that someone broke the vent window to their car and cut the exhaust system to the vehicle. The car was parked in the driveway, and there was $600 in damage.

A resident of Greenwood Lane reported an item valued at $12 was stolen from an unlocked car. 

Aug. 10
A resident of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor reported a theft. While shopping in ShopRite, the resident left their car unlocked in the parking lot. Upon returning to the car, five New Jersey Powerball tickets valued at $50 were stolen.

A resident of Bayberry Drive reported that a 12-foot-9-inch Old Town Kayak valued at more than $600 was stolen. 

Aug. 9
An officer responded to a home on Tappan Street in Forked River where several items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Stolen items included a Nine West bag valued at $50, approximately $50 in makeup, a $30 beach bag and $70 worth of gift cards. 

Aug. 9
Police reported to Lakeside Drive East where someone damaged a JCP&L substation fence by cutting a hole in it. The person proceeded to steal $500 worth of copper wire. 

Aug. 10
At approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near the area of Holmes Avenue after car was seen driving erratically. Investigation at scene led to a 17 year old Forked River female being charged with underage DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and provisional drivers license violation.
