"With the help of the public based on the alert posted through the police department website, officers located the BMW reported to have been at the scene," Paprota told Lacey Patch. "It was evident the motorcycle had not collided with the BMW before the operator of the motorcycle lost control and crashed.
The accident happened at 6:38 p.m. Sunday, at the intersection of Route 9 and Lacey Road. Witness told police then they saw a white BMW flee the scene of the accident, police have said.
"The investigation is now focusing on the actions of the operator of the motorcycle," Paprota said today.
The motorcyclist - whose name has not been released - was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center after the accident, police said.
Come back to Lacey Patch for more information later today.
