Police Secure Man Who Threatened to Jump Into Oyster Creek

Ocean Township resident transported to Community Medical Center

A 25-year-old Ocean Township man was transported Monday night to Community Medical Center for a mental evaluation after threatening to jump from an old railroad trestle in Lacey.

Police responded to Route 9 and the Ocean Township border with Lacey on a report of a despondent man threatening to jump from an unused trestle that spans the discharge canal of Oyster Creek Generating Station at 9:41 p.m.

The man voluntarily walked off the trestle after speaking with Officer John McKee for approximately 45 minutes, police said.
