The Lacey Township Police Department is looking to identify a newer-model white BMW with a temporary tag that is believed to have fled the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Rt. 9 and Lacey Road in Forked River.
The hit-and-run accident occurred at 6:38 p.m. this evening, Sunday, August 11, police said in an online prepared statement.
Witnesses indicated the vehicle may have damage to the passenger side rear, police said.
The vehicle is reported to have fled east on Jones Road immediately after the collision with a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was flown to Jersey Shore Trauma Center for treatment.
