Police: Intoxicated Lacey Man Broke Rita's Window

Criminal mischief, thefts and shoplifting reports

Police responded to the Forked River House and arrested a Lanoka Harbor man after he allegedly broke a window at Rita’s Italian Ice.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 23, several police officers were dispatched to the Forked River House for a report of an "out-of-control intoxicated" male, police said.

Upon arrival, police learned that Christopher Foster, 31, of Lanoka Harbor was physically removed from the bar after being asked and refusing to leave for unruly behavior, police said.

While in the bar’s parking lot, Foster was accused of breaking a window at Rita’s, police said. The damage to the window is estimated at $500.

Foster was issued a summons for criminal mischief.

Capt. David Paprota provided the following information: 

Feb. 22
At approximately 1:00 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the Shark Fin Inn. It was reported that two six-foot sections of wooden fence, two stop signs and the rear gate constructed of vinyl fencing were damaged.

The approximate total cost of damage is $800. 

Feb. 22
Officer Noah Schaffer met with a resident of Harris Road, Forked River at approximately 1:00 p.m. It was determined that a dry-docked boat being stored in the rear yard was damaged.

Since being placed in storage, someone cut the boat’s shrink-wrap and gained entry into the boat. The boat’s windshield brackets and hatch sustained damage. The total damage is estimated at $350. 

Feb. 20
At approximately 9:25 p.m., Officer George Resetar received a report from a Joseph Street, Lanoka Harbor resident. The resident reported that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. someone removed a foam archery target from the front porch of his or her residence.

The stolen target was described as gray/tan foam archery target (approximately 18" high by 18" wide) with brown leather handle and is valued at $100.00. 

Feb. 20
Officer Darrell Nick and Joseph Soto responded to Walmart at approximately 2:26 p.m., on report of a shoplifter.

Store staff detained Kevin Winn, 45, of Beachwood. He allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for a Hewlett Packard Envoy Touch desktop computer valued at $798 and a Hewlett Packard P2 computer valued at $498, police said.

Winn was arrested and charged for shoplifting and transported to the Lacey Township Police Department.

Further investigation led to the discovery of two outstanding no-bail warrants for a parole violation and an Ocean County Sheriff's Department warrant for violation of probation.

Winn was transported to the Ocean County Jail in default of $10,000 bail for the shoplifting charge in addition to the aforementioned warrants.
