Lacey police recently responded to the parking lot of JT's Bagel on Lacey Road in Forked River on a report of a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a parked car, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the call at 12:38 p.m. on May 30 at the shop located at 918 Lacey Road. Lt. Christopher Kenny also assisted.
Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Shelly A. Smialowicz, 53, Veronica Court in Lanoka Harbor for driving under the influence, the chief said.
She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Smialowicz was also charged with reckless driving. Her car was impounded as per John's Law, Paprota said.
