Police Charge Forked River Woman With Theft Of $6,000 In Jewelry

Brittany Gibson arrested for stealing jewelry from two homes

A Forked River woman has been charged with two counts of third degree theft after she allegedly stole $6,000 in jewelry from two different homes, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Lacey detectives arrested Brittany Gibson, 24, on June 10. Gibson is accused of taking the items from the homes on separate occasions while visiting acquaintances, Paprota said.

The thefts occurred between July 2012 and April 2013, the chief said.

"The thefts totaled more than $6,000," Paprota said.

Gibson was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $25,000 bail, he said.
