Three Accidents Caused By Alleged Drunken Drivers

One accident resulted in minor injuries

In the past week, there were three motor vehicle accidents in Lacey Township due to intoxication.

On June 4, police responded to the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Palm Beach Drive for a two-car accident at 8:20 p.m.

Edward Brosnan 44, of Beachwood was allegedly intoxicated at the scene of the accident and received tickets for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving and tailgating, police said.

Also on June 4, there was a two-car accident with an overturned vehicle at 7 p.m. at the intersection of Route 9 and Bay Avenue.

Sadot Rios, 30, of Brick was arrested and charged after an investigation with DWI, reckless driving, and obstructing the passage of the vehicle.

Deborah Cullen, 45, of Waretown was the passenger in the second vehicle and was taken by Lacey Township First Aid for pain in her shoulder.

Police were also dispatched on June 1 to Lacey Road and Manchester Avenue for a motor vehicle accident at 7:20 p.m.

Sarah Barlotta, 20, of Forked River was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, driving while suspended, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle, possession of a CDS without a prescription, possession of CDS in five doses or more without a prescription, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams or less.
