Police Blotter: Lanoka Harbor Female Mugged On Route 9

Suspect fled by vehicle after stealing $600 worth of property

A Lanoka Harbor female was reportedly mugged while walking on Route 9 near Laurel Boulevard, officials said.

The 46-year old victim was approached by a man while walking on Route 9 at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6.

The female’s Dolce Gabbana black purse valued at $250 was stolen. The purse included personal identification and assorted medication. The total value of the stolen property was $678.

The suspect fled north on Route 9 in a dark colored pickup truck. He was described as a white male. He was thin and tall and wore a hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans.

The side mirror of a vehicle parked on Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor was smashed. The estimated repair cost was $100.

A vacant home on Buena Vista Road in Forked River sustained damage. The rear window and its frame were broken. The police do not believe an entry was made into the home. There was $100 worth of damage.

A vehicle ran over a mailbox on Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River causing $100 in damage.

A home on Oxgoose Drive in Lanoka Harbor sustained damage after the glass panes in the front door were broken. The home was vacant and there was $200 in damage.

An unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on Oxford Road in Lanoka Harbor was entered. A GPS valued at $150 was stolen.

A special complaint summons was issued to Patrick Cornelius, 22, of Toms River after police responded to a report of a male and female stealing recyclables and scrap metal from resident’s trash bins on Central Lake Drive in Forked River.

The front window of a vehicle parked on Windsor Street in Forked River was smashed. Estimated damage is $200.

An unknown object struck a tow truck driving on Route 9. The window was shattered causing $450 in damage.

Numerous items including power tools, a GPS, and jewelry were taken from a home on Walnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor. The total value of the stolen items was over $5,000. There was no forced entry.

A Dusty Rhodes Code ten-by-two foot surfboard valued at $600 was stolen from a yard on Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor.

Over $10,000 worth of assorted jewelry and prescription medication was stolen from a residence on Forest Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. There was no forced entry.

After a residence on Sunset Drive in Forked River hosted a social gathering, $150 in cash was reported stolen.

An unlocked vehicle parked on Cherokee Trail in Forked River was entered and a GPS valued at $150 was stolen.

A ladies cruiser bike valued at $300 was stolen. The bike was last seen unsecured in a driveway on Tappan Street in Forked River.

A resident of Wickham Road in Forked River reported that two custom fishing rods valued at $500 were stolen from the garage.

Someone entered a shed located in the backyard of a residence on Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor. The resident reported that a 2008 Suzuki RMZ 250 Dirt Bike valued at $4,700 was stolen.

July 5

Police reported to Oak Hill Court and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor at approximately 10:30 p.m. after a report of possible fireworks and found a 16-year-old Forked River male in possession of alcohol. The minor was taken into protective custody and released to a parent. A juvenile complaint is forthcoming for underage possession of alcohol.

A quad was reported stolen from a fenced yard on Steuben Avenue in Forked River.

John Sabie, 25, of Lanoka Harbor was arrested at 2:30 p.m. for allegedly shoplifting $27.88 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

An unlocked vehicle parked on Easy Street in Lanoka Harbor was entered and $200 in cash and a $150 GPS was stolen.

July 2

A wallet containing cash was reported stolen from a residence on Arient Road in Forked River. The total value of the stolen property was $381. There was no forced entry.
