Police Blotter: Forked River Man Charged With Possession Of Stolen Yard Decorations

A Forked River man was charged with possession of stolen property after police said he stole yard decorations from a Lacey home.

Thomas Egbert, 56, was arrested for allegedly receiving stolen property after a resident on North Avenue in Forked River reported that three solo lights valued at $45 and a planter containing flowers valued at $30 were stolen from the yard on June 14.

Egbert was arrested on June 23 and received a special complaint summons. The victim’s planter was located and returned back.

and charged with theft of removable property after he allegedly stole various lawn ornaments from a home on Center Street.

A $70 bread delivery was stolen from Fusciello’s Butcher and Deli on Route 9 in Forked River. Michael Foley, 42, of Forked River was charged with theft of bread on a summons. Foley was also found to have a $750 outstanding warrant issued by the South River Municipal Court.

A $535 Red Max Blower was stolen from a home on Laurel Boulevard. The blower was left along the curb line while the resident was actively working on the lawn.

Frank Sansone, 41, of Forked River was charged with shoplifting $70 worth of merchandise from Home Depot. He was processed and released on a summons.

June 26

A home was entered on Lakeside Drive South and a 37-inch LCD television, a Xbox game system and a gold necklace. The total value of the stolen items is $1,120. There was no forced entry.

Marc Buchta, 42, of Predmore Avenue in Forked River was arrested at 7 a.m. after the police received a report of an intoxicated person. Buchta was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal, reckless driving, and driving while suspended. Buchta also had an outstanding no bail warrant issued by Union County. He was turned over to the Union County Sheriffs Department.

A resident on Rowe Street in Lanoka Harbor reported a burglary and theft. Miscellaneous jewelry valued under $50 was stolen. There was no forced entry.

June 25

Shannon Gifford, 34, of Forked River was arrested after police made a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wawa in Lanoka Harbor. Gifford’s license was suspended and she had a warrant issued by the Ocean County Sheriffs Department. She was turned over to the Ocean County Jail with a civil contempt warrant.

John Santo, 49, of Bayville was arrested at 11:50 p.m. after police were dispatched to ShopRite on a report of an intoxicated patron leaving in a motor vehicle. Santo was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.

Michael Carpenter, 22, of Manahawkin was arrested for allegedly shoplifting $71 in merchandise from Home Depot. He was sent to the police department, processed and released.

A resident of Newtown Square in Pennsylvania reported that he lost his wallet while at the Forked River House. The wallet was found at a nearby business but various credit cards were stolen and used at business throughout Ocean County.

June 23

A 2007 Honda TRX 400 CC was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck on Biscayne Drive in Forked River. The truck was parked in the driveway of the residence.

June 22

A 13-year old reported that while at the Huffy Wallis Park in Lanoka Harbor, someone stole their backpack, which contained numerous items including an iPod, a flip video camer, a wallet, miscellaneous electronics, personal identification, and keys. The total value of the items stolen is $400.

June 21

Four lawn ornaments including two solar resident frogs and two green solar resident turtles were stolen from the yard of a home on Elwood Street. The total value of the stolen property is $100.
