Police Blotter: Walmart Security Stops 2 Alleged Shoplifters

Others arrested for DWI and outstanding warrants

Two locals were recently arrested and released on summonses after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart.

Krystle Tierney, 27, of Bayville was detained by store security on a charge of shoplifting $85 in merchandise on Nov. 18.

On Nov. 17, Laura DeMichael, 20, of Toms River was detained by store security on a charge of shoplifting $98.51 in items including an HDMI cable and makeup products.

Nov. 21
A resident on Spruce Street in Forked River discovered that someone stole $200 to $300 worth of change from a 5-gallon water bottle. There was no sign of forced entry.

Nov. 20
Jonathan Amato, 26, of Forked River was arrested at approximately 3:05 a.m. after his vehicle was stopped by police for failure to maintain lane and a broken rear light. Amato was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and maintenance of lamps.

Nov. 18
Jonathan Dockins, 27, of Seaside Heights was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on several outstanding warrants. Dockins had a $235 warrant from Cape May County, $114 from Beachwood and another for $750. Dockins was taken to the Toms River Police Department.

Nov. 18
A 17-year-old Forked River male was charged with possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana after police observed a vehicle parked at the abandoned former nursing rehab with three juvenile occupants at 4:30 p.m.

Nov. 16
Ashley Frank, 19, of Forked River was arrested at a home on Weehawken Avenue on a $2,500 outstanding warrant. Frank was transported to the Ocean County Jail where she was unable to post bail.

Nov. 15
Approximately $350 worth of used automobile batteries stored in an exterior fenced in area at Walmart was reported stolen. The lock was broken and about 50 batteries were stolen.
