Police: Barnegat Woman Attempted to Leave Walmart with $575 of Merchandise

Carol McCall was unable to post bail, which was set at $10,000, with no 10 percent option

A Barnegat woman was arrested after police were summoned to Walmart for an uncooperative shoplifter, police said.

Carol McCall, 36, was being detained by store security when police arrived at the scene on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. McCall allegedly attempted to exit Walmart with a shopping cart containing more than $575 worth of merchandise.

McCall was charged with shoplifting and transported to Ocean County Jail with bail set at $10,000, with no 10 percent option.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department provided the following information on arrests made in July: 

July 31
Daniel E. Wolf, 58, of Forked River was arrested by Ocean County Sheriff’s detectives on an Ocean County Superior Court Warrant for failure to pay child support in the amount of $18,304. Wolf was processed and was released after paying a reduced purge approved by the Ocean County Probation Department.

July 26
Thomas M. Langer, 42, of Forked River was arrested by Ocean County Sheriff’s detectives on an Ocean County Superior Warrant for failure to pay child support in the amount of $19,613.51. He was processed and sent to Ocean County Jail pending his first court appearance.

July 17
Sean Hrabar, 23, of Lanoka Harbor was arrested by Sheriff’s detectives on a Superior Court Warrant for failure to comply with the Intensive Supervision Program. He was sent to Ocean County Jail with no option for bail.

July 2
William D. Perkins, 50, of Forked River was arrested by Ocean County Sheriff’s detectives on an Ocean County Superior Court Warrant for failure to comply with the Ocean County Drug Court Program. He was sent to Ocean County Jail with no option for jail.
