Police: 4 Lacey Teens Served Drug, Alcohol Charges

Shoplifting, DWI arrests and more

While checking at 10 p.m., on March 23, officers located a suspicious vehicle parked there.

Subsequent investigation of the vehicle and its occupants led to the arrest of the 17 year old male driver, of Lacey, who was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Three additional 17-year-old Lacey male passengers were also charged. One was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana while the other three were charged with underage possession of alcohol.

Two Ocean County residents were arrested shortly after midnight for allegedly shoplifting from .

Lauren Lawlor 21, of Manahawkin allegedly stole $86 worth of merchandise and Russell Hawk, 22, of Bayville allegedly stole one Xbox game. They were detained by store security.

Police later determined that Hawk had two outstanding warrants, one from Lacey for $500 and another for $330 out of Manahawkin.

Lawlor was released on a summons while Hawk was released on a summons after posting cash for the warrants.

March 25

Police made a motor vehicle stop at 1:25 a.m. and arrested Ryan Young, 28, of Bayville.

Young was charged with failure to maintain lane, open container, speeding, DWI and reckless driving. He was processed and released per John’s Law, legislation that requires police to impound the vehicle of those charged with drunken driving for up to 12 hours and issue responsibility warnings to those taking custody of the offender.

March 25

A resident of Forked River reported that her purse was allegedly stolen from within the . The purse contained personal identification, $40 in cash and a Sony digital camera for a total value of $291.

Anastacia Yodice, 25, of Forked River was charged with DWI and reckless driving at 2:30 a.m.

A vehicle was stopped for suspicion of suspended driver. Cindy Alverez, 27, of Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey had a $165 outstanding warrant. Alverez posted bail and was released.

A Cedar Drive, Lanoka Harbor resident reported that a plastic moose valued at $40 and a ceramic frog valued at $40 was stolen from the lawn of the home.

March 23

Police investigated a shoplifting incident at and determined that 20 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios were opened and 20 Star Wars action figures were stolen. Police worked with store security and arrested Paul Neuner, 71, of Forked River. Neuner was charged with one count of shoplifting and was released.

March 23

A resident of Sunrise Boulevard had items stolen from their house. There was no forced entry. The value of the stolen property consisted of electronics and other items for a total of $862.

Two 16-year-old Forked River females were detained by for allegedly shoplifting. One juvenile allegedly shoplifted $301 in merchandise while another shoplifted $126.49 in merchandise. Both females were released to their parents.

March 22

A Forked River resident reported that an iPod Nano valued at $150 was stolen from a vehicle, which was being serviced at the Lacey Car Wash and Quick Lube.

March 22

A report was filed from a Route 9 medical office indicating that a Leander 2 chiropractor table valued at $1,200 was stolen. The table was located outside of the building waiting to be picked up.

March 22

Police responded to Brothers Paving Contractors Inc. on Route 9 where two large construction grade radiators valued at $2,500 were stolen.

Bruce Ashworth, 43, of Forked River was arrested after an investigation of a shoplifting at

Ashworth allegedly stole a Nexcare athletic wrap valued at $3.89. He was charged with one count of shoplifting, served a summons and is pending court.
