Police: 4 Arrested in Gille Park Drug Bust

Police completed an ongoing narcotic investigation; a Forked River resident was charged with distributing heroin within 1,000 feet of the Mill Pond School and more

Four locals were arrested at Gille Park after police completed an ongoing narcotic investigation on Thursday, Aug. 2.

Hector Mejias, 27, and Jessica Frick, 28, both of Forked River, Daniel Angelo, 24, of Bayville and Denise Vogel, 22, of Point Pleasant Boro were arrested when detectives witnessed a suspected drug transaction at the Lacey Township Park, police said.

Angelo and Vogel, alleged participants in the transaction, were followed to the park bathroom where they locked themselves inside. Lacey detectives entered the bathroom and arrested Angelo and Vogel, police said.

The detectives then approached and arrested Mejias and Frick.

A search of Frick’s vehicle found additional heroin and hypodermic syringes, police said. She was charged with possession of heroin, distributing heroin, distributing heroin within 1,000 feet of the Mill Pond School and distributing heroin in a recreation zone.

Frick was sent to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail.

Mejias was charged with possession of heroin and sent to jail with bail set at $20,000. He also had an outstanding $2,500 warrant issued by the Lakehurst Police for resisting arrest.

Angelo was charged with possession of heroin and tampering with evidence and released on his own recognizance.

Vogel was charged with possession of heroin and released.
