Police: 2 Lacey Males in Jail Following Burglary Investigation

The county K-9 unit was utilized to track suspects to another home

Two Lanoka Harbor males have been charged with the burglary of a Hemlock Drive home.

Kyle Pianetti, 20, and Jeffrey Burgoyne, 18 were arrested after police responded to a Hemlock Drive home on Sept. 7 in reference to a possible burglary.

The caller stated that he observed a white male leaving the rear yard of his neighbor’s residence with a power washer, police said. Upon arrival, police determined the home had been burglarized.

Police obtained a description of the suspects and an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit responded to the scene and tracked them to a Briar Road home.

Police observed Burgoyne allegedly leaving the Briar Road home on foot. He was arrested and found to have discarded stolen property in close proximity to where he had stopped, police said.

Pianetti was found at his Briar Road residence.

Additional stolen property was located in the rear yard of the Brian Road home, police said.

Both Pianetti and Burgoyne were arrested and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $25,000 for each and both males were sent to Ocean County Jail.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Unit also assisted in the investigation.

Pianetti has been previously charged:

  • Pianetti was found with a Husquarn Chainsaw valued at $290, which was originally reported stolen on Feb. 6 from a residence on Leilani Drive, Forked River.
  • He was charged and released at the scene.
  • for allegedly damaging the property of Lacey Liquors.

give them 5 to 10 years in jail, teach them a trade and then maybe they can come out and work for a living like the rest of us.

People like these repeat offenders dont want to learn to work like the rest of us.. why should they when then can break into your home and steal and steal again and again.. It would be nice if this could happen but your dealing with low lifes who feel its all owed to them.. Its a real shame that we the people of Lacey have to now be afraid that when we come home from work or whereever our homes will have been violated.. Lock them up and throw away the keys..

Thanks to the neighbor who initated the process. We all should start a Neighborhood Watch in our local areas. Most burglaries occur in daytime, and are perpetrated by age-20-something addicts looking for stuff to steal and sell to support their habits. Let's look out for each other!

As I read this I just saw the scrap garbage pickers rippin thru garbage, findin metal to scrap to get $$$$ for the drugs they live for. Do they case your house and yard for a future visit ..YESSS!! These two look like 2 Ex Cons?/They should be checked for warrants when spotted by Police and document names, plates, vehicle data for cross check in future crimes and thefts/burgularies? Then again you have to patrol interior streets for this to happen, Good luck finding a patrol car. Take plate #s People and description of vehicles look around town they are everywhere Take Notice for your own safety. They stole my friends lawn mower when he went to shed..We chased them and they Said they thought it was scrap so they stole it !!!!! Next time his Pit Bulls will greet them w a nice welcome.;::)))))) Nieghborhood Watch via Pit Bulls is Very Effective. Then the cops can come and bring a First Aid kit, They will need it. Retired and Watching.

Great work to the neighbor who reported it, the Lacey PD and the K-9 who tracked them down! Unfortunately, with this justice system we have, they'll be out on the street by the end of the day planning their next victim.

What I don't understand is why was this kid release after so many prior offenses? 1st time shame on him...2nd time shame on us for allowing him back into society !!! Just maybe if he had been incarcerated he wouldn't have been back on the streets doing what he does best ! And BTW how about a picture of him and his buddy ?

When they were teens they were bad. Now that there concidered adults they"re doing the same thing. They will never change. But our only hope is that they are locked up for a long time.
