Written by Colleen Platt

Two jet skis collided earlier this evening north of the Route 37 bridge in Toms River, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to state police.

Sgt. Adam Grossman, of the State Police Office of Public Information, told Patch the accident happened around 8 p.m.

Two people were taken to Community Medical Center, with injuries, and one male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, another left with minor injuries, Grossman said.

Scanner reports noted that one of the jet skis was found later in Brick, but Grossman said that, and the cause of the collision, is under investigation.
