Ocean Gate Man Crashes Into Street Sign In Lacey

A 38-year-old man was uninjured when he allegedly crashed into a street sign last week, police said.

On Monday, June 2 at 3:43 p.m., officers responded to Lacey Road in front of Lacey Police Headquarters (808 W. Lacey Road in Forked River) for a one-car traffic accident. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a street sign.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Thomas Britton of Asbury Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the amount of $37,667.

Thomas Britton was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail. As a result of the traffic accident, Thomas Britton was issued traffic summonses for Driving while Suspended and Careless Driving.
