Man Indicted in Laurel Boulevard Burglaries

Toms River man being held in Ocean County Jail

 

A Toms River man has been indicted on charges alleging he sold stolen property that he obtained via home burglaries in Lacey.

Nicholas Merola, 19, is accused of breaking into two Laurel Boulevard homes on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 and stealing jewelry and a laptop. Authorities allege Merola then tried to sell the proceeds of his alleged crimes.

 the stolen items were worth more than $30,000.

Merola was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and two counts of dealing in stolen property.

He is being held in the Ocean County Jail on $100,000 bail, no 10 percent option.
