Local Man Arrested for Shoplifting From Wawa

Stolen cigarettes land Waretown man in hot water

A Waretown man was arrested for shoplifting cigarettes from the Wawa store on Route 9 and Taylor Lane.

Police say Ryan Territo, 29, of Poplar Street in Waretown, walked into the store with a female on Sept. 18. While a store employee was distracted, they say, Territo reached over the counter and grabbed a carton of Marlboro Red cigarettes.

Territo then exited a store and fled the scene in a white Kia driven by another female, police said.

Officers located and spoke with both females, who denied knowing that Territo was going to steal cigarettes, a statement from police said. Officers located and interviewed Ryan Territo who was ultimately arrested, processed, and released on a summons for shoplifting.
