Last Chance: Register for Second Annual Poker Run

All proceeds to benefit Lanoka Harbor EMS

There’s still time to register for Lanoka Harbor EMS’s second annual Poker Run on Saturday, May 5.

The 60-mile course will be similar to last year’s and the event will feature hundreds of dollars in prizes, said Bob Resetar of Lanoka Harbor EMS. There will also be a $500 value grand prize.

“You don’t have to ride; it’s an event for everyone who wants to come out and support the squad,” Resetar said.

The ride will begin and finish at Gille Park in Forked River, taking place from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The event includes bike games and a barbeque for all paid participants.

All proceeds will go towards the operations of the squad, Resetar said. Last year, Lanoka Harbor EMS raised a couple thousand.

“We would be happy surpassing last year,” he said. “We really need the riders."

Registration costs $20 for a single rider, $30 with a passenger and $5 for non-riders at the barbeque.

Those interested in participating can pre-register online using PayPal or via mail to LHEMS, PO Box 269, Lanoka Harbor, NJ 08734. Registration will also be permitted in person at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
