Lanoka Harbor Man Found Dead In Lacey Lagoon Drowned, Officials Said

Raymond Figlo's autopsy shows that the cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning

The Lanoka Harbor man who was off of Camden Court in Lacey Township drowned, Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office confirmed.

Raymond Figlo, 56, of 408 Camden Court was found in a lagoon at 6:42 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Figlo’s autopsy results revealed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning, Mohel said. The actual cause of the incident is undetermined pending toxicology results. No foul play is suspected, he said.

The Lacey police were dispatched to the scene and Dr. James Suddeth pronounced Figlo dead at 8:15 a.m.

Figlo was known as a "very nice, cordial neighbor," said Scott Galanos, Figlo's neighbor.

Ray Figlo & Sons Plumbing is located at Figlo’s home on Camden Court.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Unit, the Prosecutor's Office and the Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the scene.
