Lanoka Harbor Man Facing Drunk Driving, Drug Charges After Crash
Police recently arrested a Lanoka Harbor man after the pickup truck he was driving struck a tree in the front yard of a home on Cedarwood Drive, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Officer Noah Schaffer answered the call at 1:11 a.m. on April 26. He arrived to find a Ford F-150 up against a tree on the property.
Further investigation revealed that Armando J. Chavez-Lua was traveling north on Cedarwood when the truck jumped the curb and traveled 20 feet before it struck the tree, the chief said.
Chavez-Lua was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and failure to exhibit a valid registration card, Paprota said.
His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
