Lanoka Harbor Man Charged With DUI After Hit-And-Run

Lacey police recently arrested a Lanoka Harbor Man and charged him with drunken driving and leaving the scene of an early morning accident, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officers Michael Eden and John McKee responded to Sheffield Drive at 3:35 a.m. on July 28 on a report of a hit-and-run. The vehicle involved had significant damage and officers were able to track a debris trail from the scene, the chief said.

Police located the car shortly after in the Lacey Shell parking lot on Lacey Road in Forked River, Paprota said.
 
Police arrested Zachary Torrell, 20, Lanoka Harbor. He was charged  with driving under the influence, underage DUI, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to report a motor vehicle accident, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and underage consumption of alcohol, the chief said.

Torrell's vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
