Lakewood Woman Accused of Stealing Credit Card, Carrying Drugs

Danielle Appenzeller allegedly stole a purse from a shopping cart at ShopRite and a wallet at the Lacey Walmart

A Lakewood woman was arrested after she allegedly stole a purse in Lacey and fraudulently used a credit card, police said.

Danielle Appenzeller was identified by Lacey police as a suspect that allegedly stole a purse from a shopping cart at ShopRite at 12:44 p.m. on Dec. 27.

Appenzeller was located in a nearby neighborhood after she allegedly fled the store on foot, police said. Officers Della Sala and Paul Sullivan took her into custody.

During her arrest, police found her in possession of heroin, prescription drugs, and two hypodermic syringes, police said.

Further investigation revealed that earlier that day, Appenzeller stole a wallet from a purse at the Lacey Walmart and used a stolen credit card in the Lacey Home Depot, police said.

Appenzeller was charged with two counts of third degree theft, one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a prescription legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe and fraudulent use of a credit card.

She was sent to the Ocean County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
