Residents Without Power After Car Strikes Pole on Manchester Avenue

Approximately 275 Forked River residents are without power

Lacey is experiencing power outages after a car struck a pole in the area of Manchester Avenue this evening.

Township Administrator Veronica Laureigh confirmed that a car struck a pole on Manchester Avenue, causing a power outage in the Municipal Building and along Lacey Road. The township utilized a backup generator for tonight’s Committee meeting.

At approximately 6:37 p.m. a car struck a pole causing downed wires, according to police communications. Traffic was being diverted.

The accident was cleared as of 8:20 p.m., Committeeman Gary Quinn said. No one was seriously injured.

As of 8:25 p.m. approximately 275 Forked River residents were still without power, according to JCP&L’s map.

The traffic lights at the entrance for the Garden State Parkway as well as at Manchester Avenue were out at 7 p.m.

A representative from the Lacey Township Police Department was unavailable for comment.
