Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Safe, $5,000 Of Jewelry Taken From Forked River Home

Residents can submit tips about the burglary anonymously



More than $5000 worth of jewelry and a safe containing bonds was stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Fleetwood Avenue on Tuesday, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer John Simonson responded to the home at 4:26 p.m. on May 20 on a report of a burglary, the chief said.

The homeowner told police that sometime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., someone pried open a rear window and entered the house, Paprota said.

Detective Brian Flynn along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit (CIU) and a K-9 Unit arrived on scene to continue the investigation.
