Lacey Police Investigating Foiled Burglary On Continental Street

A suspect or suspects were unsuccessful in their recent attempt to break into a home in the 400 block of Continental Street in Forked River, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Darrell Nick responded to the home on June 18. The homeowners reported that between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m Tuesday, June 17, an unknown person or persons attempted to gain entry into their residence. The homeowners noticed on June 18 that the dining room window screen was damaged by pry marks, the chief said.

The resident stated that it appears that they were not able to remove the screen because the screen was locked into the window. The windows also have alarm sensors that were not activated. Access was not gained into the residence. The damage to the screen is estimated at $50, Paprota said.
