Lacey Police Investigating Boat Battery Thefts

Police in Lacey are investigating two thefts of boat batteries.

The first occurred Sunday at the Southwinds Condominiums on East Lacey Road, where a boat owner reported that two “Lee” 6D marine batteries were stolen from his 41-foot Silverton boat sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 17 as it was docked in a boat slip behind the condominiums.

The New Jersey State Police Marine Division is also investigating the incident. The theft is estimated at $1000.

The same day, Officer John McKee responded to the 1100 block of Pensacola Road in town where another boat owner reported that two marine batteries with a total value of $200 were taken between Oct. 13 and Nov. 17.
