Lacey Police Charge Southampton Man With Drunk Driving After Accident


Lacey police recently arrested a Southampton man for driving under the influence after a one-car accident in the 1200 block of Taylor Lane in Forked River, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officers Charles May and Adam Ewart responded to a report of car hitting a tree at 2:12 a.m. on May 14, the chief said.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Nicholas A. Rutigliano, 22, of South Firelane Road of South Firelane Road. He was taken to police headquarters where he was charged with DUI, DUI breath test refusal, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt, Paprota said.

Rutigliano's vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
