Lacey Police Charge Manchester Man With Obstruction Of Justice

A Manchester man was arrested recently and charged with obstruction of justice when he fled on a bicycle after police observed what appeared to be a drug transaction in the Wawa parking lot, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Special Officer Michael Hutman was on patrol at 11:41 p.m. on June 23 when he saw the apparent hand-to-hand drug deal take place in the parking lot of the store on Route 9 South in Forked River, the chief said.

The suspicious transaction was between Ryan Territo, 22, Pheasant Street, Manchester and another unknown suspect. When Hutman attempted to stop Territo, Territo fled north on a bicycle, then jumped off and fled into the woods on foot, Paprota said.

Territo was later located at the Towns Square Plaza by Hutman after a lengthy foot search. Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the scene and placed Territo under arrest for obstructing the administration of law. Territo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons, the chief said.
