Lacey Police Charge Driver in Crash With Drunk Driving

Three passengers charged with underage consumption of alcohol, one sustained minor injuries


A 21-year-old Lanoka Harbor man is facing charges of driving under the influence after his car was involved in an accident, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Darren J. MacGillivray, Jr., Forest Avenue, was also charged with reckless driving and failure to stop, the chief said.

Lacey officers responded to the 2:27 a.m. accident on March 29 at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Lake Barnegat Drive in Lanoka Harbor on a report of an accident with injuries, Paprota said.

The vehicle’s passengers, identified Thomas A. Prosser, 20, Warren Avenue, Lanoka Harbor;  Gregory J. Fenton, 18, Dugout Drive, Lanoka Harbor; and Miranda L. Holsten, 18, I Street, Seaside Park,  were all later charged on a Special Complaint and summons with underage consumption of alcohol, the chief said.

 One of the passengers sustained minor injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment by Lanoka Harbor EMS. The vehicle Darren MacGillivray Jr. was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law, the chief.
