Police Arrest Two Men Found With Four Bricks Of Heroin During Motor Vehicle Stop

Investigation of drug activity on Laurel Boulevard continuing, police chief says

Lacey police recently arrested two men on Laurel Boulevard after they saw what appeared to be a drug deal conducted out of a car, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Patrolman Officer George Resetar was on a directed drug enforcement detail at 10:50 p.m. on July 24 when he saw the occupants of a red, four-door Volvo sedan engaged in suspicious activity, the chief said.

The Volvo then sped away and ran the red light at Laurel and Route 9. Resetar followed and conducted a motor vehicle stop. As he approached the car, the occupants appeared to be hiding contraband. Resetar and Patrolman Michael Verwey saw three bricks of heroin on the passenger side floor of the Volvo, Paprota said.

Police arrested Justin C. Hall, 26, 411 Manapaqua Avenue, Lakehurst and Donald L. Peardon, 29, 2401 Carey Lane, Vienna, Virginia. Both men were charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe, the chief said.

The officers seized 200 wax folds (4 bricks) of heroin, a hypodermic syringe, as well as other drug paraphernalia. Peardon also had three active warrants out of Virginia. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of $75,000, Paprota said.

Hall was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and running the red light. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance, the chief said.
