Lacey Police Arrest Several For Shooting Off Illegal Fireworks On July 4
Enforcing state law prohibiting fireworks will continue throughout the summer
The Fourth of July may be over, but Lacey police will continue to arrest those who persist in discharging illegal fireworks, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Police arrested several men in different incidents on the Fourth of July for discharging fireworks. They include:
Fireworks (Formal Charge) and Warrants – On Friday, July 4, 2014, at 12:41 a.m., Officers Charles May and John McKee responded to the area of Clifton Street and Harrison Avenue in Forked River fat 12:41 a.m. on July 4 or a complaint of fireworks. they located Christopher J. Commiso, 32, Chelsea Avenue, Ocean Gate, for actively discharging fireworks. The officers also discovered two outstanding warrants for Commiso. Warrant number one was issued by the Ocean Gate Municipal Court in the amount of $1,364, and warrant number two was issued by the Manchester Township Municipal Court in the amount of $498. Commiso was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and issued a complaint and summons for the fireworks violation. Commiso was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail on the outstanding warrants.
Fireworks (Formal Charge) – Special Officer James Perotti was dispatched to the 900 block of Capstan Drive in Forked River for a complaint of fireworks at 9:59 p.m. on July 4. When he arrived, Perotti observed fireworks being discharged. Perotti issued a complaint summons Paul S. Piscitelli, 55, Saint John’s Place, Union, for the violation of the state law prohibiting fireworks.
Fireworks (Formal Charge) – On Friday, July 4, 2014, at 9:09 p.m., Special Officer James Perotti responded to the 1200 block of Varuna Drive in Forked River at 9:09 p.m. on July 4 on a complaint of fireworks. Perotti observed Glen R. Howard, 45, Patton Place, Dumont, discharging fireworks . Perotti issued Howard a complaint summons for the violation of the state law prohibiting fireworks.

Police received a "tremendous amount of calls" over the Fourth of July weekend, he said.
Now that the holiday weekend is over, Lacey police will have more time to respond to fireworks complaints, Quinn said.
