Lacey Police Arrest Ocean Gate Man For Driving While Suspended For DWI

An Ocean Gate man is facing a number of charges after Lacey police stopped him in a parking lot on Lacey Road recently, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Robert Flynn stopped Ignat Safarov, 32, East Long Branch Avenue at 7:14 a.m. on July 3. Investigation at the scene lead to Safarov's arrest for driving while suspended for a drunk driving charge, hindering apprehension for providing a false name to police, driving with a suspended driver's license during a period of DUI suspension and making an improper right on red violation, the chief said.

Safarov was processed at police headquarters and released, Paprota said.
