Lacey Police Arrest Fourth Suspect In Assault And Robbery Behind Liquor Store

Lacey police today apprehended a fourth suspect in an assault and robbery incident that took place outside of the Spirits Unlimited liquor store, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The fourth suspect, 21-year-old Jacob Barney of Forked River, was arrested by Detective Samuel Della Sala after he was located at the Sea Pine Inn in Waretown. Barney was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $75,000 bail, the chief said.

Barney is one of four suspects in the April 8 assault and robbery of  a man behind the Spirits Unlimited liquor store on Tuesday night, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officers Andrew Slota, Dimitri Tsarnas, George Resetar, Michael Verwey, and Sergeant Ronald Buxton respond to a call that the victim was bleeding badly and needed medical attention, Paprota said.

Joseph J. Caputo IV, 24,  Forked River, was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment of injuries suffered during the assault and robbery, the chief said.

The four assailants were reported to have fled the scene on foot, but three were later located and arrested, he said.

Police arrested Anthony O. Baisi, 20, 1618 Ewart Rd., Forked River;  Shawn C. Kaliske, 22, 15 Hastings Road Forked River, and a  17-year-old male juvenile from Forked River, Paprota said.
