Lacey Police Arrest Forked River Man For Drunk Driving

Driver also issued summonses for reckless driving and failure to maintain lane

Lacey police recently charged a Forked River man with driving under the influence after they were alerted to a possible intoxicated driver, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Naoh Schaffer responded to the area of Western Boulevard and Manchester Avenue at 10:04 p.m. on June 22. The caller told police that a red Dodge pickup was driving erratically, the chief said.

Schaffer stopped the vehicle in the Bank of America parking lot at 711 Lacey Road in Forked River, after he saw the truck swerving on the roadway.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Robert Tumminelli, 52, Wallace Avenue in Forked River for driving under the influence, Paprota said.

Tumminelli was issued summonses for DUI, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane, the chief said.

His truck was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
