Lacey Man Faces Assault Charge in Road Rage Incident

Forked River man followed a couple home, police say

A Forked River man is facing a simple assault charge in connection with what police are calling a road rage incident.

Lacey police say Douglas Thomas, 56, of Oxford Road, followed a 29-year-old man and his 30-year-old girlfriend to their Oxford Road residence on Sunday afternoon. Once there, police say, Thomas struck the man in the left side of his face, causing visible injury.

Thomas was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons for simple assault.

The victim was transported to Community Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. The incident is still under investigation and further charges may be issued.
