Lacey Man Charged with DWI, Arrested At Spirits Unlimited

Arrests, criminal mischief and thefts from the last week

A Lanoka Harbor man was charged with drunken driving after police responded to a report of a vehicle that possibly struck TD Bank on the corner of Route 9 and Lacey Road, police said.

Police were initially dispatched to TD Bank at 5:44 p.m. on Thursday, July 26. The motor vehicle suspected of striking TD Bank’s property, had left the location and police responded to Spirits Unlimited.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Darren Anacker, 57, the driver of a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Anacker did not strike TD Bank but allegedly drove over bushes in the parking lot, police said.

Anacker was charged with DWI, driving while suspended and reckless driving.

A mailbox on Portsmouth Drive was dented and crushed. There was $50 in damage.

Steven Renn, 21, and Kevin Sheridan, 21, both of Forked River received special complaint summonses for defiant trespassing after they were found inside the area known as Parker’s Pit at 7:30 p.m. 

July 25
Police responded to a Route 9, Lanoka Harbor business where a car that was left in the parking lot for several months was damaged. There was $400 worth of damage in broken windows. 

July 24
A Laurel Boulevard resident reported that someone damaged a car window. Damage to replace the window was $400. 

July 24
Police responded to Pan Asia where a party of eight fled the restaurant without paying their $57.89 bill.

Amber Cox, 18, of Forked River, a 15-year-old Forked River male and a 13-year-old Forked River female were arrested. Cox was charged with theft. Juvenile complaints for the 15 and 13-year-olds are forthcoming. 

July 24
A resident of Seabright Road reported that a white female entered their neighbor’s yard and stole a radio and beach chair. Investigation led to the recovery of the radio and beach chair but the homeowners declined to press charges. 

July 24
Police responded to Lake Barnegat where a group of individuals enjoying the lake had property stolen. A HTC EVO 4G phone valued at $200, a black LG phone valued at $150 and a watch valued at $50 were stolen. 

Investigation led to the arrest of Kerry Barry, 32, of Forked River. She was charged with two counts of theft. Barry was processed and released. 

July 24
A resident of Forked River reported that a Felt Sheriff bike valued at $1,500 was stolen. The bike was left unsecured outside of Walmart. 

July 25
Police responded to a report after 11 p.m. of a small pickup truck parked in the neighborhood of Tappan Street with occupants who were possibly drinking alcohol. A 16-year-old Forked River male was arrested and released to his parents. Complaints are forthcoming for possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana.
