Lacey Man Accused of Stealing, Cashing Checks From Charity

Thefts occurred over past several months, police say

A Lacey man is facing criminal charges after police say he stole, then cashed, checks from a charitable organization.

Brendan Twigg-Patrick, 27, of Ridge Road in Forked River, has been charged with third degree theft by deception, third degree forgery and third degree uttering of a forged object.

According to police, Twigg-Patrick allegedly stole more than 20 checks from a checkbook belonging to a local charity, forged the checks, then cashed them at local banks.

The combined estimated value of the cashed checks is $2,405, police said.

He was processed by Lacey police on Monday and released on summonses pending a future court date.

The incidents occurred over the past several months, police said. The name of the charity involved in the case was not divulged.

Why not divulge the name of the charity that had their objects uttered?

What on earth would stop a press org from getting a name of a charity. What police organization would withhold it? I mean that's just silly.

Even the Lacey patch is press, they get to be as much the press as the Washington post. This may sometimes mean that you have to remind the government that they do not get to make the choice as to what is news.

Some will think the charity was not being responsible with the account.
