Lacey Cops Looking for Walmart Shoplifter

Suspect got into blue Suburban with wrong plates, police say

Lacey police are searching for a man who they shoplifted a cart full of items from the Lanoka Harbor Walmart store.

Police say at about 4:28 p.m. Monday, Officer Charles May responded to the store after a loss prevention officer reported that he had surveillance video of an unknown white male walking through the store concealing merchandise in two bins that he had placed in a shopping cart.

The video was from Sept. 9, police say.

The man is described as a white male in his middle 30s, medium build, average height, wearing a black shirt and tan shorts. He was observed getting into a blue Chevrolet Suburban with plates that belonged to a different vehicle, police said.

Some of the items that were identified in the cart were a Keter 22 inch tool box  with $17.84, an Ozark Trail sleeping bag worth $14.97, a Russell black hooded sweatshirt worth $17.72 and an SUV truck tool box worth $39.98, with a total value of $90.51.

The matter remains under investigation.
