Lacey Cops Investigating More Auto Burglaries

Bumper, electronics, cash among items taken

Lacey police responded to a number of auto burglaries in recent days.

The first recent incident occurred Nov. 8 after 7 a.m., when officers responded to the 100 block of Parker Avenue in Forked River, where a resident said an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway overnight and stole her GPS, Nintendo 3DS, two mobile DVD players and loose change with a total value of $590.

Later that morning, officers responded to the 100 block of Pine Street in Forked River where, a resident said an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet and various documents with a total value of $24.

The next day, a Parkside Drive man called police and reported that sometime overnight, someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle and stole his wallet. The total theft is estimated at $80, and the damage to the vehicle is estimated at $150.

Finally, on Monday, Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 500 block of Wynnewood Drive in Forked River, where a resident said an unknown person or persons stole the bumper off of the front of her vehicle, a white, 2002 Volkswagen Beetle, while it was parked on Manchester Avenue overnight the previous week. The estimated value of the bumper is $1,000, police said.
